Dear Students,

 

As you may be aware, Shawnee State recently transitioned to a new student information system (your MySSU account). The transfer of data has created some temporary issues and challenges for many of you. For that, I apologize. Our mission centers on removing barriers to your success and making the transition to college life easy.

 

Two issues tied to academic data that we are working to address quickly are incorrect or missing financial aid information and incorrect degree audits. Some students are receiving a message that their course schedule is creating a possible financial aid issue. To qualify for financial aid, courses do have to count toward your degree, but because the new system isn’t recognizing some approved course substitutions, you may have received this message in error. Similarly, some students are receiving a message that a class is not required for their major. This message may also be in error.

 

Before adding or dropping any course due to one of these messages, please talk to your academic advisor to determine if a course counts toward your degree. If you don’t know your advisor, please call the Student Success Center at 740-351-3594 for help.

Spring 2021: Pantry Pick-Up

Students can shop in person during the hours listed below. Ring the doorbell for service:

Monday - Thursday Noon - 6 pm

Friday Noon - 4 pm

Peer Tutoring

The Student Success Center, first floor Massie Hall, provides free peer tutoring in many courses. Click on Request a Tutor, fill form out and submit. The tutoring appointment confirmation is sent to your Shawnee MyMail account. Cancellations can be made by sending an email to cnoel@shawnee.edu.

Summer 2021 Payment Plan - Enrollment Begins April 12

The Tuition Payment Plan is available through a service called CashNet. You can access CashNet through your MySSU account. (Visit the Student tab, select Billing Information)

Students beginning Summer 2021 can enroll in the payment plan and make their first payment starting April 12.


Visit https://www.shawnee.edu/payment-plan/summer-2021-tuition-payment-plan to view more details on the new payment system. CASHNet also accepts 529 Plan payments.

Textbook Rental Returns

Students that are finished with their rentals should return them to the campus bookstore prior to winter break. Students are encouraged to continue to use their materials through the end of the semester. When students finish with the text, they can drop off at the campus bookstore or print the label to ship the books to the campus bookstore.
